Bought this game last Wednesday, but didnt’ play it until Saturday night. I had heard that you could play the campaign missions with up to 4 people online, so I decided to wait to play it with at least one other person. Well, Saturday night, Dan S (Wolfsun87) was online and I gave it a try.
From the first scene, I knew this game was going to be intense. From the first person view, you see a Japanese soldier talking to a guy tied up on the ground, and within minutes, the guy is laying lifeless on the ground, blood splatter everywhere….
After a great escape from there, the second mission places you on a boat headed for shore, simular to the opening sequence of Saving Private Ryan, all I have to say, is enjoy the ride, and keep an eye one your squad member in the front left.
This game will get tons of comparison with COD 4: Advanced Warfare, one of the premiere FPS games in recent history, and because of that, will probably get some flak. The most common one I heard from people, and most of them have not even played the game yet, is that the WWII setting and firepower is not good enough, they require sniper rifles, and other Modern weapons.
After playing the game through the first 4 missions, I think this is a great game, and of course, I believe the option to go through the mission with 3 buddies makes it all the better.
With the holiday season upon us, and all the awesome games released in the last few months, and the months to come, is this the game you need to buy? To me it depends, if you prefer playing a FPS game by yourself, then GOW2 is probably the better game (although that game also gives you the option to play the campaign with a online buddy) but if you want to experience an intense battle with 3 other buddies, then COD:WAW is probably the way to go.
Then again, why not get both?

Gears of War 2 was probably the most hyped 360 game of the year, this was the game that everyone was waiting for. With this much presure to create a sequel to an already classic game, there was no way that they could pull it off.
Well, they pulled it off, BIG TIME.
You can play the single player campaign by yourself, you can play the campaign split screen, and you can also play the campaign co-op style with a buddy online. The great thing is, no matter which way you play it, you get the full story, all the cut scenes, all the twists and turns, I’ve played all 3 ways, and done the same levels and they are still fun. For sure the co-op online is my favorite, I’ve done some with Josh (Turnipx) and Scott (DarthWho) .
The mutliplayer is suppose to be good too, but I have yet to find the time to play it. The Horde mode, where you and up to 4 buddies bunker down and battle wave after wave of Locust should be pretty cool
I was watching a podcast of 1up the other day (gaming preview/review) and I think they said it right, the worst thing about GOW2 is that it outdoes GOW in every way, making GOW not even worth playing again. And GOW was an awesome game in it’s own right. I would almost suggest someone would play GOW1 before jumping into GOW2, because once you play it, you will not go back.
The graphics are amazing, so far, I’m only in chapter 2, and i’ve already had at least 5 WOW moments. The screen shots will give you a hint of what you have in store.

If you are only getting one Xmas game this year, I would probably have to suggest this one.

Well Dango just had me watch the trailer for Dead Space and a 30 sec clip of game play and yeah a confirmation was done there will be no Dead Space in my house unless the girls get older and they want to play.
On another note I borrowed Dan’s Bourne Consparicy and I am at the last Boss right now should be done tonight but I really enjoyed the game. It was very easy a few chapters were a bit harder but overall a game worth renting but not buying cause I finished it in probably less then 7 hours game time and you can’t play online but your home alone for a weekend and want a shooter/driver/cinamatic game this is the game to test.
Besides that all I have been playing is NHL09 if you play a gamertag Drake09 I think just quit ahead of time. I am not the best NHL player out there but I have a pretty good record and I was down 8-0 in the first and he had 7 cheap goals and he has mastered the stick lift… he has a record of over 300 wins and 22 loses so I suggest u dont’ play him.

Well, I seem to be realizing that there is not enough gaming time available.
Here is what I’m up to in the gaming world.
Currently Playing
Dead Space - Currently on Chapter 7 of 13.
Lego Batman - 80% done, has taken a back seat since I started playing Dead Space
Gears of War 2 - Purchased this on Friday, and played the co-op missions with Josh, we got to Act II - Chapter 3 I believe, anway, we are currently undergroud fighting the Horde. This is another awesome game, doing the single player campaign with a buddy online really enhances the experience. Havn’t tried the Multiplayer Horde mode yet, and I can’t wait to try it. In this mode, you and up to 4 buddies work together to defeat wave after wave of enemies.
The Bourne Conspiracy - Played through the first chapter of the game, have not played since. Will get back to it though, because it was fun.
Rock Band 2 - Enjoy banging out a few songs on the drums. It would be fun to have a full Rock Band night sometime with some friends and beer (a must)
Coming Soon
Mirror’s Edge is out tomorrow, this is certainly a game I want to play. Played the demo and it looks awesome. I will wait to get this through Goozex Site.
Call of Duty : World at War - This is also out tomorrow. The 4 player co-op mode looks really interesting. So far Dan S (Wolfsun87) Gee (GeeUnit) and Tim (PoolsharkTim) plan on purchasing this game.
Far Cry 2 - I am first in line to receive this game through goozex, a GTA IV type game that is suppose to be excellent.
Quantum of Solace - Also first in line through Goozex. Although this game is not on my top to do list, still looks pretty good and want to give it a try.
Guitar Hero : World Tour - Another gamet that I am first in Line to receive, Can’t wait to play the new Metallica album.
Currently on my Shelf
Condemned 1+2 - Haven’t played them yet
Dark Sector - Haven’t played it yet
GTA IV - about 30% done (which is still a lot) will go back to finish the game eventually. Would like to play some co-op missions though.
Star Wars Force Unleashed - Finished the game, then went back and played through the first 2 chapters again to try to collect all the collectable. Will go throught and play it again in the future.
Bioshock, Assassin’s Creed, Halo 3 - Borrowed these from Scott (DarthWho) and plan on going through them as well. The first one will be Bioshock
BattleField: Bad Company - Lent it to Gee (GeeUnit), he finished the game and said it was pretty cool.
As always, there is NHL 09 and Madden 09 that is always an option if anyone wants to issue an challenge. I find I enjoy the sports games a lot more against a buddy, then alone or online against a stranger.

I’ve been playing this since last week, I’m about 5 hours of gameplay in, and just started Chapter 5. To continue with Scott’s review, this game is awesome.
The first 3 chapters of the game were played with stereo sound, coming from the TV speakers. This weekend, I purchased a cheap surround sound system and hooked up my XBox to it, and WOW, the game just went up a knotch on the enjoyable scale.
Just like a good horror movie, the sound in this game is the selling point, walking down deserted corridors, with creaks and cracks coming from all around you. Ghostly voices coming behind you really brings out the creepy factor to this game.
If you have an option to play this game with full surround and in the complete darkness, that choice is highly recommended.

That’s right, I am back. I have decided to give console gaming another try since I have a PS3 in my living room that has so far been nothing but a Blue-Ray player for me. As per Dango and Scott suggestions, I have started out with Call of duty 4 (feels like a bad beat since I payed alot for it and now a new COD is coming out, thanks Dan!!!) and I am seeking to get my hands on Dead Space (the reviews are very high and it looks like a cool game!!!). I had thoughts of selling my Ps3 to get an Xbox, but unless an offer falls on my lap, I won’t actively look to make the swap. IMO there are lots of cross platform titles that I can sink my teeth into to keep me occupied. My goal right now is try different gendres of games and to try and find my niche. Like I told Scott in a comment in one of his posts, I am looking for something entertaining and challenging yet it has to be fun straight out of the box.
I have gotten rid of madden ‘09 since I was not playing it and it still has full value on Goozex. For some reason, the sports games which dominated my gaming taste not that long ago are boring to me. I was never huge on single player season/franchise mode play and it feels like you get 3 scenario’s in these games
1) You play someone that is absolutely better then you. You get crushed and the game is not really fun…
2) Most of the time you play people that are pretty equal to you. At the end of these games, you don’t feel gratified about winning as it always seems like it’s whoever the computer decides to get the random goal/turnover will win… I don’t feel like you can “measure” how well you played a game anymore…
3) You play someone you crush, this is no fun at all…. A challenge is important…
When it comes to Call of Duty 4… I am not sure I am a huge fan of these types of games. It does not feel like “open concept”, you have to follow tight formations and/or accomplish one specific task in each mission. Mind you I have only finished 2 missions so far, I can say I am somewhat enjoying the game but I don’t think it’s going to my go to type in the near future…
So next on my plate will be Dead Space. People are comparing it to Resident Evil and I remember enjoying those way back in the day. I am also curious about Little Big Planet, the new need for speed and MK vs Marvel. So that’s what I am going to be doing gaming wise for the next little while.
If you guys have any suggestions on titles and stuff, let me know… Again, I am kind just testing the waters to see if gaming is something I can get into again as a secondary hobby…

I have been off work with my back/neck stuff and haven’t turned on the xbox all week til this am. I played a little Rainbow 6 vegas, 1 game of madden, then a little backgammon. All told about an hour in a week of xbox. WTF? I do see me playing more this fall/winter, right now I just can’t sit long enough to play. My whole days are filled with pills (weeeeeee), sleep, ice/hot packs, and physio. Good times.
The boys were bugging me last week at poker that although I am building a lot of games in my collection, I am not actually playing. Got 3 more from a friend for being in his wedding, Bioshock, R6 Vegas, and Splinter cell. I think I will get either Guitar Hero world Tour or RockBand 2 for the family for xmas. Any ideas on which one to go? We got American Idol Kareokie for my daughter for her bday this week, and she has been playing it like crazy. It’s quite something to hear your kids going from Alana Myles “black velvet” to GnR “Knocking on Heavens Door”.

Hitman : Blood Money - Finished the last two missions last week. I really enjoyed this game. A great variation on the FPS game, where stealth, and puzzle solving take the forefront ahead of headshots. (although, a few sniper head shots are needed in some missions).
You can save the game at any point during a mission, but in-mission saves are only good until you either finish the mission or turn off the game. Once you turn off the game, the next time you play you will have to start that particular mission again. So if you plan on playing a bit, give yourself at least a couple hour of gameplay planned for each mission, just in case.
A good thing about each mission, there are usually quite a few ways to accomplish them, so your first goal is to try to gain access to every area of the map, and observe the behavior of your targets to figure out the best way to get your “kills”. Some are straight forward like putting a bomb on the bolts of the chandelier and detonated it when your target is below playing the piano, so a litle more inventive like replacing a prop gun with a real WWII pistol so that the rehearsal turns deadly.
