Hey everyone,
Considering we are still August, we can’t complain with our 1st game turn out. We had a total of 24 eager players with big hopes and big dreams. Unfortunately in tournament poker, only one person can win. I’d like to congratulate Tina Drisdelle for taking down our opening season game and capturing a cool $ 345.00 1st place prize, our runner up Julie Pham, pulling in a nice $ 170.00 prize and to our inseperable duo Shane Leighton and Donnie Saunders for coming in 3rd and 4th respectively. It was a great night!
I’d love to be able to recap some of the tournament highlights, but unfortunately I was one of the first out and spent most of my evening playing in the fish tank, I mean cash game.
Hope to see an even bigger turn out next time!
Josh.

Its about that time of year again people…
We will be starting our 7th season of the season August 27th. I can’t beleive its been 7 years doing this….crazy stuff
Things will be a bit different this year. We had a meeting about rules and stuff and this is what you people need to know.
1- Chips will increase from 2500 to 3500. Same blinds as before. We will try this for the first few games of the season to see how it goes, but if it goes way too late, we can change this. We figured it would give us more play at the start and it wouldn’t matter to much at the end of the tourney since blind levels are higher…..we’ll see how it goes.
2- We will be charging 40$ this year versus 35$. The reason for this is simple: No need for change as most people will be bringing 2 twenty dollar bills and we had said we wanted to increase it sometime in the future…so why not this year. We haven’t totally figured out what money will be going into the final tourney….but it will still be 1$ for expenses per player every tourney. It was 7$ out of the prize pool of the tourney going into the finals…, so pretty sure we might take the rest and put it at the end as well….dunno yet.
Marcel, since your the player of the year, you will have to pay 10$ per night I beleive we discussed because of the increase in money.
Everyone will still need to pay their 10$ registration fee, so basically first game of the season its a 50$ buy in.
3- There will be no Heads up tourney this year as we decided to possibly increase another leg….so basically having 9 holdem tourney instead of 8. Points games will be those 9 games along with Omaha tourney and of course the Finals (more points awarded in the final game) We will still host a team tourney along the way as well.
Some might not agree with what I said above, but it is what it is.
It will still be hosted at Angie’s house for those that came to our Finals…
36 Kenview Drive, off Hildergard
386-3237
I will be collecting the people who are interested in playing in our first game. Before, I would want to get 40 players all the time, but this year will be different as I can’t accomodate that many people here at this new location so I will give dibs to those that have been loyal in the league for many years first and then after the few tourneys, we’ll see how it goes. Im pretty sure my magic number will be between 32-36 players.
We also have a new website that is in the works…you can check it out at www.nevertilt.com/lpt
There you will find the ” tentative” schedule and stats.
Please respond to me if you are coming ASAP and if some people have friends that want to join, I will let you know if this can happen
Cheers
Tim
